About Us

Nashdale Orchards is a family-owned and operated medium-sized fruit growing enterprise, proudly producing premium export-quality apples and cherries. Our produce is enjoyed both locally and internationally, with fruit supplied to markets across Australia and exported to countries including China, Thailand, Vietnam, and beyond.

As an export-certified orchard, we undertake annual external quality assurance audits to maintain the highest standards and ensure access to a wide range of domestic and international markets. Our commitment to quality, food safety, and sustainable farming practices is at the heart of everything we do.

Each harvest season, we employ a large team of seasonal workers and offer a dedicated camping area with essential facilities in a spacious, friendly, and peaceful rural setting.

Conveniently located less than 8 kilometres from the city of Orange, the orchard is also close to Lake Canobolas — a popular local destination known for picnics, walking trails, swimming, and beautiful scenery enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

Apples

At Nashdale Orchards, we grow a range of popular apple varieties, including Alvina Gala, Royal Gala, Fuji, Ruby Pink Lady, Granny Smith, and Kanzi®. Consumer preferences continue to evolve, and we adapt our production to meet changing demand.

All of our produce is Freshcare certified, ensuring we meet strict quality and food safety standards while maximising market opportunities. Our apples are carefully picked at peak ripeness to deliver the best flavour and crispness, then packed by local facilities to maintain freshness and support the regional community.

As the saying goes, “an apple a day keeps the doctor away!”

Cherries

At Nashdale Orchards, we grow a range of cherry varieties including Lapins, Stella, Sylvia, Samba, Sweetheart, Sweet Georgia, Regina, and Kordia. Our growing and harvesting practices are designed to produce export-quality fruit that meets some of the most stringent protocol markets in the world.

Cherries are picked early in the morning while temperatures are cool, then transported in small batches shortly after harvest to the Biteriot packing shed for hydrocooling. This process helps preserve firmness and ensures the fruit remains crisp and fresh.

Our cherries are carefully graded and packed using state-of-the-art photographic imaging equipment by the Biteriot operations team.

Where is Orange?

Orange is located approximately three hours west of Sydney in Central West New South Wales. It is a vibrant regional town known for its wineries, cafés, and restaurants, and is now firmly established as a popular tourism destination.

Our orchards sit at an elevation of 950 to 1000 metres on the northern slopes of Mount Canobolas, in rich volcanic soils. The region’s distinct seasonal climate provides ideal conditions for growing premium apples and cherries.

Orange has long been recognised as one of New South Wales’ key apple, pear, and cherry growing regions. All of our farms are located within a 10km radius of Orange, ensuring close proximity to packing and distribution facilities.
