Seasonal Cherry Picking Jobs – Orange NSW

Seasonal Work During Cherry Harvest

Cherry harvest season is one of the busiest times at Nashdale Orchards, and we employ a large team of seasonal orchard workers and fruit pickers each summer. Many of our workers are backpackers and travellers looking for seasonal farm work near Orange.

Harvest work takes place during December and can be physically demanding, with summer temperatures often exceeding 30°C. Workers should come prepared with:

  • Light, long-sleeved clothing
  • A wide-brim hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Plenty of drinking water

To help avoid the hottest part of the day, our workdays begin early in the morning. We also provide access to onsite amenities and washing facilities so workers can freshen up after a hard day’s work.

Camping & Facilities for Workers

Camping may be available for seasonal fruit pickers upon request, subject to availability and suitability.

We recommend travelling in a van or vehicle that can also be used for accommodation. Workers have access to onsite kitchen facilities for storing and preparing food.

Our orchard and campsite are conveniently located just 5 minutes from Orange CBD, making it easy to access shops, supermarkets, and local services during the cherry season.



             


Current Farm Job Openings

Join our team for the upcoming harvest season and enjoy the opportunity to complete eligible regional farm work for your 88 days visa requirements. All positions are paid weekly with payslips provided.

Cook Positions (1–2 Roles Available)

We are currently seeking experienced and reliable cooks to prepare meals for harvest workers during the busy picking season.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare early morning breakfasts for large groups
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  • Assist with general orchard, staff, and cleaning duties as required

Requirements:

  • Ability to cook efficiently for large groups
  • Comfortable with early morning starts
  • Reliable, organised, and hardworking
  • Previous cooking or catering experience preferred

We are looking for motivated orchard hands with previous orchard experience to join our team for the season.

Requirements:

  • Previous orchard experience is essential
  • Ability to work early mornings
  • Hardworking, reliable, and physically fit
  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport required
